Bid On Travel auctions for your dream safari stay Posted on 24 March 2021 Launched in October 2020, Bid On Travel has attracted an audience of 7800 follows on their Facebook page where their live auctions are hosted every Monday. The organisation is a safari style auction representing all nine provinces of South Africa presenting some of the country’s most beautiful cottages, tree houses and uniquely designed accommodations. “The bidding happens in a controlled manner but the viral nature of Facebook allows the posts to be shared far and wide. That coupled with comments and other interactions, generates significant reach for the product on auction. In today’s stressed climate, specials for experiences abound as this is one sure fire way to get eyes on the products. Equally important, though, this system creates a willing buyer, willing seller environment and without doubt, the consumers are the winners but the lodges are only too happy to host their new guests.” Mike Richardson from Bid On Travel told us. The Bid On Travel website has all the lodges and packages on offer at their regular price – no deposit required to bid. The booking process has what they call the “Haggle” button where if you’ve missed an auction you can push the button and negotiate a price with the lodge or manager. “The owners are expecting these messages. All it requires is a simple and free registration on the Bid On Travel website.” he said. “The booking process is commission free, so the likelihood of scoring an epic deal is very high as the owner no longer has to worry about the middle man grabbing his commission.” Richardson added. The Bid On Travel website is growing and has products and experiences being added every week.
