Autumn snowfall in Lesotho Posted on 15 April 2020 Winter is definitely on its way and Lesotho is proof of this. The high-lying country received snowfall last night, turning the gorgeous green mountains in the north of the country into a winter wonderland. Lesotho is the world’s fifth highest country, as no part of it lies below 1,400 metres above sea level. It has an average elevation of 2,160 metres. The country is renowned for its white winters and South Africans often travel there to see the snow. For now however, we can enjoy the view through someone else’s lens. Lesotho says “We’re Covid19 free, but we just reported our first case of snow in Africa!!” Halala Basotho ba batle, dumelang Butha Buthe moo ho fihlela hodimo Mokhohlong… pic.twitter.com/gbyxeC5DY8 — DeeNation® (@mcdeetsotetsi) April 15, 2020 So much SNOW! ❄️❄️ @visitlesotho @Traveller24_SA @GetawayMagazine @SnowReportSA @StormReportSA1 pic.twitter.com/yy0gNKbKvt — AFRISKI (@SkiAfriski) April 14, 2020 Image: Facebook/ Lets Make Lesotho Famous/ Swench Related Posts Cape Town’s sustainability: Leading the way in environmental initiatives 1 June 2023 As National Environmental Month commences in South Africa, Cape Town stands proudly at the forefront... read more Kapama to host Safari Guide of the Year Awards 2023 1 June 2023 Kapama Private Game Reserve near Hoedspruit will host this year’s Safari Guide of the Year... read more Blood Lions relaunches for public viewing on YouTube 1 June 2023 Award-winning documentary feature film Blood Lions has been relaunched on YouTube for public viewing, creating... read more PREV ARTICLE NEXT ARTICLE
