Andrea Bocelli will livestream an Easter Sunday performance Posted on 8 April 2020 This Easter, celebrations are going to be a little different compared to previous years. World famous opera singer Andrea Bocelli is putting on a performance to celebrate Easter Sunday from the Duomo Cathedral in Milan, that you can stream on YouTube from home. The concert will be performed on the evening of Easter Sunday and will be available for streaming globally. Bocelli will be joined by cathedral organist Emanuele Vianelli, according to Variety. There will, of course be no live audience and the set list will include ‘Ave Maria’ and Mascagni’s ‘Sancta Maria’. The performance has been named ‘Bocelli: Music for Hope’ and will begin at 7pm in Italy (7pm in South Africa). Bocelli’s home nation, Italy, has been deeply impacted by the coronavirus pandemic and this concert will hopefully lift the spirits of residents and viewers across the world alike. The performance will go live from Bocelli’s YouTube page, which can be accessed here. It will be brought to life by the collective effort of the city of Milan, the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo, Sugar Music, Universal Music Group and YouTube. Bocelli has stated that he will not be taking a payment for the performance. View this post on Instagram . One can always sing: anyone can, with or without using their voice. The thoughts and words that we use every day can be imbued with the same beauty that is found in the lyrics of an aria or of any song, in the modulation of sounds. One exercise that can help us learn to find this music that makes all of us artists could be to get into the habit of reading one poem every day – aloud – and to listen carefully to the sounds, noticing how the words (and the ideas they contain) start to sing, both inside and outside the body, as our lips give them air. By the same logic, we can also live poetically: a kind word, a smile, some care, the attention with which we do things: all of it can become music, a soundtrack without compare that makes our personal adventure in this world special. It’s life itself that can sing! Let’s make the most of these strange days to train our beauty and to become music ourselves, music that brings light into every corner of the home – both the one made of bricks and our inner home – as well as into the hearts of those around us. . . .
