Airlink to launch Cape Town to Walvis Bay route Posted on 16 February 2021 South Africa’s regional airline, Airlink announced a direct route between Cape Town and Walvis Bay will launch on March 2. Airlink to launch Cape Town to Walvis Bay route. ‘This new service is ideal for business and leisure travellers with the port city of Walvis Bay being an important economic hub and gateway to some of Namibia’s prized tourist destinations, including the Namib Dessert, Swakopmund and the Skeleton Coast. Walvis Bay, Langstrand and Swakopmund are also home to a significant community of people who commute between Namibia and South Africa,’ explained Airlink CEO, Rodger Foster. This is the fourth route between South Africa and neighbouring Namibia. Other services include Cape Town and Windhoek in addition to flights from Johannesburg to Windhoek and Walvis Bay. I sat by the lagoon in Walvis Bay, Namibia, early one morning watching the flamingos move back and forth as though they were in a dance. It was so peaceful.
