90 years of the Table Mountain Cable Cars

On Friday 4 October, the Table Mountain Cableway will be celebrating its 90th birthday. To commemorate the event, South Africans of all ages will be given a once-off chance to ride the cable cars for R90 return. An adult return ticket usually costs R360.

The birthday special will run from 1 October to 31 October 2019 and will give locals the chance to see Table Mountain up close. The iconic mountain was recently nominated in this year’s World Travel Awards, in the World’s Leading Tourist Attraction category.

The #Cableway90 special will be available to book online and at the Ticket Office at the Cableway. If you are going to book at the Ticket Office, be sure to bring your valid South African ID, as well as your child’s ID or birth certificate. Children under 4 ride for free. The #CableWay90 special cannot be used in conjunction with other specials.
