Laailou Music Festival is coming to Paarl for a fantastic weekend Posted by Chloe Cowley on 28 February 2022 EVENT POSTPONED – dates to be confirmed later this year. Lilos, music, fun in the sun. The TopWineRoots Laailou Music Festival promises to be a thrilling weekend in a fantastic setting for a great time with your friends. The event is taking place from 18 to 20 March at the Berg River Resort in Paarl, with the option of a day or weekend ticket. Don’t forget your lilos, in all shapes, colours and sizes, to float in the cooling waters of the Berg River. Spend the weekend with fabulous people and enjoy one of the best line-ups on offer on the Western Cape festival circuit: Karlien van Jaarsveld, Spoegwolf, Early B, Jan Bloukaas, Janie Bay, Francois van Coke, Die Heuwels Fantasties, Corné Pretorius, Tasché, and many more performers will keep the good vibes going all weekend. Spoegwolf Festival organisers Corné Pretorius and Wynand de Villiers are thrilled to be hosting their new festival at such an idyllic venue. De Villers says: ‘We are confident that the line-up is exceptional, but on top of that, it was important to find a venue that matches the vision of what we are aiming to create. The Berg River Resort is the perfect setting: for those who are not in the water, there is plenty of shade under ample beautiful old trees. There will be surround sound that will make it possible to enjoy the music from your spot of choice.’ Paarl has not previously had a cornerstone festival, and many role players in Paarl, as well as the Drakensberg Municipality, have singled out the Laailou Festival as an event to endorse in the future. ‘We are privileged to have so much support for the first edition of the festival, and we are also tremendously grateful for our two major corporate sponsors TopWineRoots and Bok Radio,’ De Villiers says. ‘Remember 18 to 21 March is a long weekend. We have music running on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Come and join us for a wonderful party getaway!’ Tasché by Jaco S Venter Janie Bay Tickets are available here and are limited to 2 000 per day.
