Get a Bietjie Bos in Limpopo next month Posted by Ilhaam Hoosain on 6 July 2022 The first weekend in August is time to go a little crazy, at the Bietjie Bos Festival at the Marakeli Farm in Limpopo. The festival promises to give you a wild weekend filled with some of the best Afrikaans artists while you camp under the stars. Rock group, SAARKIE make music in Afrikaans and English and released an album last year called Waar lê jou hart! Rock group Saarkie released an album last year called Waar lê jou hart! They perform in Afrikaans and English and will be just one of many acts for the public to enjoy. Others include: Spoegwolf, Early B, Danny Smoke, Martin Bester, The Black Cat Bones, Riaan Benade, Straatligkinders, Valiant Swart, Van Pletzen, Bernice West, Zebraman, Akkedis and Die Melktert Kommissie. ‘It’s always great to be in the bushveld and to do a show in the open air, where you are not just performing songs, but doing so under the stars,’ says Bouwer Bosch from Straatligkinders. ‘This is where nature and music meet – and aren’t they just two of the most beautiful things in the world? We can’t wait! Festival goers can expect some of our classic tunes, as well as some funky covers. Attendees need to pack in their tents, sleeping bags and warm winter clothes for a weekend of excitement. Many South Africans have been waiting for this time since Covid put an end to large public gatherings and now that restrictions have been lifted, people are very excited to enjoy life again. If you do not have a tent, you can buy a set-up tent starting for two people at R1 400.
