Exciting new show: Halala Africa is coming to Cape Town Posted by Chloe Cowley on 8 April 2022 A brand new show is coming to Cape Town. The Halala Africa Show will go on stage on 26 April and will provide a proudly South African experience with a two-hour journey through the beautiful music produced in the country from the 1960s to the present day. There is a discount for Getaway readers at 15% off of the ticket price available here. The discount will activate when you use the code ‘HALALA15’, so don’t miss out on this awesome experience. The price of tickets starts at R370 and goes up to R680 for seats in the golden circle. The audience will enjoy a tapas-style five-course meal with some of the most famous South African cuisines. You can expect to sit back and enjoy the happy, the sad, the funny and often staggering stories around the music, narrated by their storytelling maestro producer and accompanied by animated audio-visuals. The show, however, is much more than that. It is also a social upliftment project. Through the journey of creating the show, the producer, William Gets, faced many trials and tribulations when travelling into the townships once a week to specifically select township musicians to star in the show and showcase their talent. Despite the challenges their band members faced, they are proud of the music they can produce and the joy that they can bring to people’s faces as they dance to covers of Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masekela, Johnny Clegg, Vicky Sampson, eVoid, Springbok Nude Girls, Freshly Ground and more! The show invites you to become part of the story that has been in the making for a year now and enjoy the positive outcomes from the challenges that they have faced. Tickets to their début show are now available at: Halala Africa Show, Web Tickets or Quicket.
