The Time Out Market first opened in 2014 in Lisbon, Portugal. It quickly became the city’s most popular destination, with over 4 million visitors a year. The success in Lisbon brought further expansion, with Time Out markets opening in Miami, New York, Boston, Montreal, Chicago, and Dubai. And now, Cape Town joins the list of cities with a Time Out Market! What better place to gather all of Cape Town’s finest in the culinary biz than at the historic V&A Waterfront, known for its vibrant markets in Cape Town?

Time Out Market picks out the city’s best chefs, bartenders and cultural goings-on and gathers them all under one roof. The result? An ultimate tasting experience of the very best stuff that the city has to offer.

Time Out says the new market will come to life in late 2023. It’ll be equipped with 14 kitchens, all run by different top Cape Town chefs and four bars with drinks co-curated by Mother City’s best bars. There’ll also be a stage for live performances.

There’ll be room for approximately 750 visitors, including quayside tables with jaw-dropping views of our beloved Table Mountain. With Cape Town’s reputation for having some of the best markets in Cape Town, the Time Out Market is sure to be a hit with locals and tourists alike.
