Sophisticated yet irreverent: The Capital Mirage has reimagined hotel life Posted by David Henning on 20 October 2022 It’s refreshing to see when a hotel has used the lockdown to reimagine the hotel, and The Capital Mirage in Cape Town is one of them. Long gone are the days of dreary carpets and long passages leading from the elevator to your door. At The Capital, the lift opens up to a modern lounge setting, as you pass a snooker table where a two-story high graffiti mural adds a punky and irreverent feel to the place. The rooms have an open-plan setting with a bed area opening up to a spacious lounge setting and a wide open window, letting you take in the views of Cape Town. The Capital is in the trendy De Waterkant, so you are just a hop away from bars, restaurants, and cafes. If you are here for business, Cape Town’s CBD is just around the corner and the amenities provided mean you can still hit the hotel gym after work, cook a meal in the apartment kitchen or meander De Waterkant’s streets for a place to dine. Alternatively, take in the sunset at the rooftop Utopia Restaurant for spectacular views of Table Mountain and the Waterfront. The Capital Mirage offers Luxury and Superior studios as well as 1-bedroom to 3-bedroom luxury apartments.
