NCL returns to the seas

The cruise line recently announced its return to service offering guests a wide range of destinations to choose from, including departures from Europe, the Caribbean, the US and many more, with itineraries ranging from voyages departing from Europe and The Caribbean starting July 25, 2021 to cruises from the U.S., Australia and Asia.

“All guests sailing aboard cruises with embarkation dates through Oct. 31, 2021 will be required to be fully vaccinated and tested prior to boarding our ships. Given the ever-evolving nature of the pandemic, the accelerating rollout of the vaccine, and the speed of scientific learnings, it is premature to make decisions about our health and safety protocols for cruises with embarkation dates beginning Nov. 1, 2021. We will continue to evaluate our health and safety protocols and rely on science and our expert council as we make decisions and evolve our policies and procedures,” said Norwegian Cruise Line’s President and Chief Executive Officer Harry Sommer.

Debut in Cape Town

For the first time, NCL will position a ship in South Africa with Norwegian Jade making company history as the first vessel to offer roundtrip cruises from Cape Town, debuting from December 2021 through January 2022.

Her 12-day Extraordinary Journey sailings will include visits to Lüderitz, Walvis Bay and Durban, and feature overnight calls in Cape Town and Richard’s Bay.

“We are very excited for our South African debut later this year,” says Nick Wilkinson, Regional Vice President Business Development Middle East & Africa at NCL. “Norwegian Jade’s Cape Town roundtrips are popular among both local and international travellers and are truly one for the bucket list:”

Why it’s wise to book your cruise now

While it may be surprising, booking cruise holidays in advance is nothing new. It’s commonplace for cruise lines to open bookings for cruises as early as two years in advance, with the most popular voyages and cabins often selling out years ahead of the scheduled departure dates.

Due to current circumstances, this usual booking pattern is even more pronounced. Savvy South African cruisegoers are snapping up great deals now, taking advantage of NCL’s Peace of Mind Policy and securing their dream cruise holiday for 2022 and 2023.

NCL has already opened its 2023 itineraries early this year – the earliest in its history. The cruise line has also recently announced its new class of ships, Prima Class, and has opened the first of its six vessels for sale: Starting mid-2022, Norwegian Prima will sail sensational itineraries to Northern Europe, the UK, the Caribbean and Bermuda. The ship did debut as the brand’s most in-demand vessel, setting a company record for both the singe-best booking day and best initial booking week in NCL’s 54-year history.

So, if you can’t wait to return to the seas, now is the time to book.
