Kayaking YouTube series inspires adventure Posted on 27 September 2018 Tags:kayaking, paddling, SUP If you’re looking for inspiration to get outdoors and explore, make sure you put Paddle Tales on your must-watch list. The new series, hosted on the PaddleTV YouTube channel, launched on World Tourism Day, Thursday 27 September with the goal to encourage explorers to get outside. This short form adventure travel series is produced by Helonica, a Canadian video production company that specialises in outdoor productions, in association with the Bell Fund and is designed ‘to resonate with anyone with an interest in the outdoors, not just paddlers’. The series follows avid paddler and host of the show, Ken Whiting, as he explores Québec, meets interesting people, and embarks on a series of adventures. Despite the irony of having to watch the series on YouTube, Ken’s goal is to inspire others to get outdoors and explore and to take a break from their screens. In the first season of Paddle Tales, Whiting goes whitewater kayaking down the powerful Kipawa River, sea kayaking through caves in les Îles de la Madeleine, kayak touring on the North Coast of the Saint Lawrence viewing puffins and also monoliths sculpted by stormy seas. “Paddle Tales is much more than a paddling show — it’s an adventure travel show that tells the stories of amazing places, interesting people, and takes people on breathtaking paddling adventures,” explains Whiting. “That’s one of the things I love about paddling. Not only are the adventures fantastic, but paddling provides a totally unique way to experience a place, and to meet fascinating people.” Watch the trailer below. The PaddleTV YouTube channel is also home to content such as instructional videos for beginners on stand up paddlebording (SUP) and kayaking techniques .
