Yzerfontein to Langebaan Posted on 1 March 2010 We left Yzerfontein early this morning and made our way back to the West Coast Road and after about 12km on that road turned left into the West Coast National Park. What a great place to cycle! The road is quite hilly, but very quiet and the scenery is great. Apart from the beautiful vegetation, there is also birdlife in abundance. We cycled through the reserve and made our way to the beautiful town of Langebaan. I must say that all the hard uphill cycling was worth it once we could see the beautifully blue lagoon as we approached town. We pitched out tent in a campsite called Leentjie’s Klip and went for a swim in the clear blue waters of the Atlantic, the cool blue water was as refreshing as anything you could ever come across. Tonight we will get some fresh mussels from the rocks for dinner and cook them on our campfire. Tough life this. Tomorrow we will be heading to Velddrif, we might even try some bokkoms once we get there.
