Blend into nature with these mirrored pods Posted on 7 October 2019 Tags:new zealand, sleep pods Feel like you’re sleeping outside in nature, while in the comfort of a luxury hotel room with these new Lindis Pods in New Zealand’s Ahuriri Valley. The pods blend seamlessly into the wilderness because of their mirrored finish, making them almost invisible. Located on the 2428-hectare Ben Avon Station, surrounded by conservation parks, mountains and beech forest, these pods have a 180-degree uninterrupted view of the mountains and sky. ‘The mirrored finish takes the pod and all but makes it disappear as it reflects the surrounding skies, mountains, and tussocked hills, yet from the inside the one-way glass provides a spectacular view that makes the most of the lodges unique location,’ said Sally Lilley, Director at New Zealand In Depth. ‘This is the perfect destination for couples looking for the ultimate privacy and escape.’ Each 20-meter squared luxury pod features a king-sized bed, an en-suite bathroom, outdoor gas-heated tubs and private decks, plus all of the lodge’s world-class eco-amenities. Inside the pods are finished with a wall of one-way glass and dark wood creating further connection with the nature on its doorstep. ‘The double-glazed mirrored glass walls on three sides give guests not only privacy and unspoiled views of the scenic Ahuriri Valley, but also make it cosy in winter and cool in summer; a perfect year-round experience, whatever the weather,’ said Lilley. Not only do these pods reflect and blend into nature, they were also created using sustainable design principles, with an onsite backup generator, geothermal heat pumps, rainwater harvesting systems and state of the art insulation. When not marveling at the extraordinary view around them from the Pod, guests can enjoy a wide range of activities from fly fishing and walking, to horse riding or e-biking. You can book a stay at the Lindis Pods as part of a 10-night luxury New Zealand adventure through New Zealand In Depth for £3,200 (around R59,000) per person. This includes car hire, 2 nights at the new Lindis Pods with dinner and 8 nights in luxury B&B & luxury lodge accommodation.
