Tested: Thule Perspectiv camera bags Posted on 19 July 2013 A great travelling photographer needs a great camera bag and these options from Thule are well thought out and beautifully designed. I got the chance to use two camera bags from the Thule Perspektiv range and when it comes to technicality, there’s no compromise. Both the GoPro case and the daypack are made using impressive hi-tech fabric and design Cloudburst Technology offers protection from the elements through welded and taped critical seams and Durable Water Resistant (DWR) treated fabric keeps the splashes out. Like most other camera bags, they also have a sneaky raincover so heading outdoors with your precious kit won’t be so daunting, despite the weather. DSLR daypack The Thule Perspektiv Daypack comes with lots of compartments The Perspektiv Daypack is a wonderful travel companion. Comfortable and well-fitted, it has all the right compartments, zips and pockets that an outdoor photographer needs. It has a tripod back strap, a side pocket for your water bottle and enough space for a DSLR body with an attached lens and customisable storage for another two lenses. The removable pod system is an awesome feature What makes this camera bag unique is the removable pod system. You can pack your camera into the pod, which is housed in the camera bag and you can whip it out if you want to just use the backpack as is. There is also easy access to your camera with the Perspektiv daypack Costs R2 699 Adventurer’s camera companion The Thule Perspektiv GoPro case is a seriously useful accessory for your camera and accessories. The Thule GoPro case Although it’s a designated GoPro case, it fits most action cameras (like the Drift and iON WiFi) thanks to its customizable dividers and has all the same technical features as the daypack. It’s quite small, but the size of the bag can increase because it has a roll-down top for extra goodies and a flip down top to hold extra SD cards. The adjustable dividers will it most small action cameras It’s only got a small carry handle and isn’t suitable for larger cameras or an excessive amount of accessories, but it can slot easily into your backpack and the crushproof padded camera compartment will keep your investment well protected. Although small, the GoPro case is adjustable for fitting more accessories My only wish is that it had a shoulder strap. Costs R599. Both from THULE, tel 031-502-1044, www.thule.co.za.
