Elastoplast range for 2013 Posted on 16 April 2013 Elastoplast is a household name familiar to many and the 2013 range of plasters offer a variety of options for any accident and can be easily added to your travel kit and medical aid box. The brand has been around for 125 years, which is a long time by anyone’s standards and they’ve stood the test of time becoming a trusted brand. Now, the history of plaster may seem a little dull, but I reckon a little bit of useless knowledge doesn’t do any harm. The idea of Elastoplast was born in 1880 with an eslaticated fabric used to hold bandages and dressing in place and production of the rolled fabric began in 1927 spreading throughout the British Empire – including South Africa. By the 1930’s, a full range was produced including ready to cut to size bandages that were elastic, antiseptic and adhesive, pretty much the plasters we know today. The first breathable plaster was introduced in 1960 and more newfangled designs have been trotting into the stores ever since. Elastoplast range 2013 This year, the range seems endless and there really is something for every situation. I’ve grown up with these plasters myself and I remember despising the roll of Elastoplast that pulled and left resin around the wound. Inevitably every scrape and fall would end in yelps and my flailing body being held down by a much stronger mother, whipping off the plaster with little sympathy. Luckily things have changed. Here are a few options from the newest Elastoplast range to be tucked into your travel kit. Just in case.
