New: Lotus grill released in SA Posted on 6 August 2013 Tags:braai A compact and easy to use portable braai ideal for camping, on the beach, on boats or at picnics. The Lotus Grill operates with a battery-operated fan which constantly supplies the charcoal with air, ensuring hot, ready-to-use coals within four to five minutes. It’s double layered construction means this nifty braai keeps heat in the inside of the bowl, ensuring it can be touched, moved or even carried around during use because the outer bowl never gets hot – much like the Cobb Supreme (see review here). The Lotus Grill is stylish, funky-looking and comes in a variety of colours. There are no naked flames or hot loose embers when you use this griller so it’s a great option for the outdoors. After cooking you can be packed up and leaving within minutes – remove the parts, place on the ground to cool and pour water on the coals to extinguish them. Place them back in the unit, re-assemble the parts and you’re ready to get going again. If you’re still a little sceptical, the Lotus Grill has also won a fair number of prizes including the Red Dot Award for design. Costs approx. R2 000 from Mobelli Outdoor.
