Light. Dry. Simple. Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Dry 20-litre daypack reviewed. Posted on 12 June 2012 Weighing a mere 90 grams, the Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Dry 20-litre daypack has a roll-top dry-bag type opening, double-stitched and taped seams and adjusts to the load size with a compression lacing system. Most amazingly, this lightweight and waterproof pack fits into the palm of your hand when packed away. The Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Dry 20-litre daypack is a great bag to throw into your other bag to use as a daypack or find yourself with extra luggage (shopper’s curse?) this little guy steps into the breach as a backup. Given the concept it’s obvious that there’s no padding or outside pockets and you’d imagine that it’s not the most comfortable thing to cart kit around in, but the ergonomic design of the straps go a long way to offsetting the shortcoming. I found that stuffing a fleece or jersey into it solves two problems – both comfort. The price may seem a bit high but the bag is very well-made and the materials are of an incredibly high quality. I trust it to keep my electronic kit dry in a downpour or river crossing. Can your comparably priced everyday daypack or camerabag do that? R499 from leading outdoor stores or www.adventureinc.co.za.
