Eat out: Food flask tested Posted on 13 August 2013 It looks like a traditional thermos flask, but the 1,2-litre Cape Union Mart Food Flask contains two plastic food storage units. It doesn’t trap heat too well and food starts cooling after about an hour, but it’ll do for a breakfast stop or picnic grub. The lid doubles as bowl and the flask itself can also be used for liquids if you take out the food containers. Although removing the food containers can be fiddly, the flask is a fun contraption and would work particularly well for storing soup thanks to the big capacity and wide pouring option.
