Adventure gear: Tikka XP2 Core headlamp Posted on 8 April 2011 Essentials for your adventure kit With its lithium-ion polymer core battery (charged via USB, cellphone charger, car cigarette lighter or even solar panel), Petzl’s new Tikka XP2 Core headlamp is adapted to intensive use. Integrating two light sources as well as a wide-angle lens with assisted open-close feature, the headlamp allows you to choose between a long-distance focused beam and flood beam for proximity lighting. It is equipped with a white high-output LED and a red LED, which provides back-up lighting useful for preserving night vision, or strobe lighting for increased safety. Using Petzl software, you can customise the headlamp’s performance by adapting the lighting intensity or battery life to the type of activity.
