Getaway wins best travel blog at the 2011 South African Blog Awards Posted on 12 December 2011 We are so excited to have won best travel blog for the second year in a row at the 2011 South African Blog Awards, which were held at Crystal Towers Hotel & Spa on Saturday 10 December. It’s a great accolade for us, and for the 150 bloggers who contribute to our blog. This year’s blog awards finalists were voted in by the public and then the winner in each category was chosen by a panel of judges. We were up against stiff competition in our travel category – Portfolio Collection and Africa Geographic – and we feel honoured that the judges selected our blog as the winner. A big thanks to everyone who voted for us! We really appreciate the support from our loyal blog readers, Twitter followers and Facebook fans. An even bigger thanks goes out to our amazing food and travel bloggers who make our blog what it is. We couldn’t have done it without you guys! Congratulations to the other winners, especially Ranger Diaries, which scooped up both the environment the overall winner awards.
