11 cool food trucks in Joburg and Cape Town Posted on 6 September 2016 The street food movement is revolutionary! Food trucks date back to the late 17th century in the United States, where they were just ice cream trucks selling soft serve treats. These days, though, food trucks can be found all over the place, and trucks are now equivalent to modern restaurants on wheels. All products used by Die Wors Rol are all locally sourced and organic products. The sauces are homemade and the 100% pork sausage, made by the Sweetwell Farm in Stellenbosch is 22 cm long! Circling around Cape Town is the Durban’s Finest Curry food truck with tantalising Tandoori chicken, prawn curry and lamb bunny chow enough to make anyone’s mouth water. You can find the Durban’s Finest Curry Food Truck on Monday and Tuesdays at Dunkley Square, or request one of the food trucks for your own private event. The Taco Van comes from the El Burro restaurant in Greenpoint. You are spoilt for choice with Mexican tacos and smoked jalapenos stuffed with cheese, nachos and quesadillas. The Earthfire Pizzas have thin crispy bases with an array of toppings to choose from. A yellow truck with delicious Afro-Mediterranean cuisine. Big, bold, fresh flavours of seafood paella prepared with Spanish pans is what you can look forward to at Tutto. Food Co. Find them at Neighbourgood Market, Market on Main, events and festivals. Some of the favourites on the menu is the seafood paella with prawns, calamari and clam meat just to name a few.
