Amakhala Game Reserve is an 8,500-hectare co-operative ecotourism venture founded 20 years ago by four Eastern Cape farming families. The reserve is set in a diverse landscape, encompassing five of South Africa’s seven biomes and has abundant wildlife including lion, elephant, rhino, giraffe and cheetah, which you’ll spot on game drives, guided walks and horse safaris.

As part of the Indalo Game Reserves Protected Environment, Amakhala was awarded Protected Area Status in recognition of its contribution to biodiversity conservation, and was recently selected to receive the first translocation of a captive-born male cheetah into the wild.

Terms and conditions

The prize is valid from 1 May 2020 to 30 September 2020. It is subject to availability, not transferable nor redeemable for cash and does not include transport to and from the lodge, or reserve conservation fees. The horse trail is weather dependent, and the route will be determined by each rider’s ability.
