My five favourite things at the Western Cape Getaway Show Posted on 30 March 2011 I had so much fun at the Getaway Show at Lourensford Wine Estate this weekend. If you didn’t make it, here’s some of what you missed out on: Isuzu Off Road Academy Track The experienced Isuzu guys took us on a trail around the estate and showed us what the new KB300 can do. It was great fun – although scary at times – and very informative … and free! The Bubble Ball Imagine climbing into a bubble and merrily bouncing about on the water’s surface. That’s how cool the Bubble Ball is. It’s suitable for all ages and only set me back R20 for six minutes of excitement (and exercise). The sumo wrestler suits It’s quite silly actually, but the most fun you could have for R5. Suit up in the big, bulky sumo wrestler costume (get your friend or a stranger to join you) and start fighting. You’re guaranteed a good laugh and you’ll definitely work up a sweat, and look ridiculous at the same time. Free coffee at the Getaway stand How can I not add that all guests could get their free caffeine fix at the beach-themed Getaway stand. Cape Union Mart‘s discounts You could buy any merchandise at the Cape Union Mart stand and get 15% off each item. Those were my highlights, but there were so many more cool activities and stands. The helicopter flip would have been my favourite … if I actually got to go. At just R200 for a short trip over the winelands, I was silly to miss out on that. Watch out for the next Getaway Show in Gauteng later this year. http://show.getaway.co.za/gauteng-getaway-show/ Related Posts The 5 best climbing spots in South Africa 10 April 2023 Mozambique – a coastal, self-drive holiday 23 October 2022 Catherine Hofmeyr shares what's new (and what's still hot) on a coastal self-drive holiday from... read more Get ready for high voltage action at Killarney’s Power Series 6 21 July 2022 As we accelerate into the second half of the season, Power Series racing presented by... read more PREV ARTICLE NEXT ARTICLE
