Dancing through the bush at Tshukudu Lodge

The first thing that comes to mind when you think of going on safari is not exactly ballet. The bush is rugged, and smells of insect repellant and animal dung. Ballet is sophisticated, elegant and usually involves dainty costumes nowhere near fit for the bush. Well, Tshukudu Bush Lodge has proven us all wrong.

The lodge, situated in the Pilanesberg National Park, released a video to showcase its offering through dance. Created in collaboration with Joburg Ballet, the clip was released on social media recently, and we absolutely love it.

Tshukudu Bush Lodge forms part of Legacy Hotels & Resorts’ portfolio of properties across Southern Africa. A two-hour drive from Johannesburg, the lodge is in a Big 5 reserve.

Two of the company’s dancers were filmed experiencing the lodge in much the same way as a guest would, except their story is told through contemporary, neo-classical dance – with a touch of African, to align to Tshukudu’s African Safari experience.

The dancers are also wearing art from the House of Nala, adorned in proudly South African clothes created by local designers, showcasing the very best of African haute couture on offer.
