Newest gear in navigation: Garmin Oregon 550t Posted on 6 April 2011 Garmin's newest navigator Garmins newest navigator, the Garmin Oregon 550t, will not only make getting lost fun, but also fun to share. It combines rugged outdoor touchscreen navigation with a 3.2 megapixel digital camera with 4x digital zoom. Each photo is geotagged automatically with the location of where it was taken, allowing you to navigate back to that exact spot in the future. It stores and displays key information, including location, terrain, difficulty, hints and descriptions, which means no more manually entering coordinates and paper print outs! The picture viewer then allows you to show off those photos to your friends and family. The 550t comes with a 7.62cm diagonal, sunlight-readable, color touchscreen display that is both durable and waterproof. It's built to withstand the elements; bumps, dust, dirt, humidity and water, making it ideal for the more hands on traveller or dirt-loving offroaders.
