Greenpop’s first training day

Posted on 9 December 2010

Greenpop held its first training day on Monday 29 November in partnership with Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens and it was a huge success!

50 teachers, principals and ground staff from all the schools where we’ve planted so far attended a fascinating workshop on biodiversity, caring for our environment and the importance of treemendous trees. We covered everything from Cape Town‘s endemic species to deforestation. Roleen, course facilitator from SANBI, took us through interactive activities and interesting learning methods on this important topic. The day ended with an energetic walk through the educational area of the gardens and lots of great networking, and learning from each other.

Greenpop feels that environmental education is vital in making a real difference and will be putting together training days and follow-up sessions regularly.
