South Korea’s Asiana Airlines bans emergency seats after door opens Posted by Lisa Abdellah on 28 May 2023 South Korea’s Asiana Airlines has stopped selling some emergency exit row seats after a passenger opened an emergency exit door before one of its plane had landed. Photograph: Yonhap via Reuters This happened on an A321-200 plane carrying nearly 200 passengers as it approached the runway at Daegu International Airport. The aircraft landed safely, no one was seriously injured, and no damage occured, but several passengers had to go to hospital. ALSO READ: Passenger opens Asiana Airlines plane door as it lands The airline told the AFP news agency that as a safety precaution, emergency exit seats on its 14 A321-200 jets will no longer be available for passengers, even if flights are full.
