Friendly otter spooks group of young men in Simons Town Posted on 10 February 2023 A group of young men were seemingly not so brave when an otter jumped onto the same floating Jetty in Simons Town, with all of them taking evasive action from the curious critter. The video, which is trending on TikTok, shows the group of men frantically jumping overboard as the otter makes landfall on the Jetty. South Africa is home to two out of the 13 species of otters – the African Clawless Otter, also known as the Cape Clawless Otter found throughout the country, and common throughout the Cape.
