Nigeria reinstates Covid-related entry requirements Posted by Jordyn Johnson on 26 January 2023 The Nigerian Federal Government has announced that international arrivals must present proof of a Covid-19 vaccination. The government announced on Monday, 19 January, at the Ministry of Health in Abuja during a press meeting, Travel News reported. After relaxing Covid-related entry requirements in December 2022, the country noticed a surge in Covid cases throughout China, Japan, and the United States. Naija News reported that Geoffrey Okatubo, Director of Port Health Services, said the ‘following the reported upsurge of Covid in…other countries, Port Health Services has continued to heighten surveillance at (their) points of entry. ‘Port Health Services has resumed checks of passengers’ vaccination status and will provide traffic data on inbound passengers from all over the world. ‘All international travellers arriving in Nigeria are now to provide evidence of vaccination at point of entry and it was agreed that unvaccinated passengers arriving from other countries may have to be vaccinated at the airport.’ Picture: Getaway gallery Follow us on social media for more travel news, inspiration, and guides.
