Local artists to perform at Nederburg’s Sunset Stoep sessions Posted by Tsoku Maela on 7 December 2022 Make your way to Paarl for some rest and relaxation this festive season. The Nederburg’s laid-back Sunset Stoep Sessions, presented from October until April, featuring local musicians and local flavour, provide an ideal late afternoon experience for the whole family! Savour some of Nederburg’s fine wines with delicious snacks, whilst listening to live music and watching the sunset over the vineyards and majestic Drakenstein mountains in the background. Bring the kids along for them to enjoy the play area in the garden with games, jungle gyms and zip-lines, a tree house, swings and more. Lawn games for adults are also available. The live music performances start at 15:00 (until 18:00) on selected Saturdays in December and January. Join in earlier for a complimentary drink! Please note, there will be no performances on 24 and 31 December as well as 28 January. The line-up of artists for December and January 10 December: Mark Haze A South African singer-songwriter and full-time touring musician, known for his wide vocal range and electric large live performances. He skilfully delivers a signature combination of high-energy rock ‘n roll and silky old-school soul, fused with raw emotional blues guaranteed to have audiences singing along on their feet! 17 December: Dan Apollis Solo guitarist, singer-songwriter and bassist, originally from Worcester, performing various genres from soft rock and Indie-folk to blues and more. Dan recently recorded his first original track, Lazy Sunday Morning, with Graham Ward, a former drummer of the great Tom Jones. 7 January: Juan Casey Singer, songwriter musician, passionate about music and his country. A primary acoustic musician, he covers a wide genre of music. 14 January: Ruben Gerritz A talented singer-songwriter from Cape Town. Having his heritage in blues but being open to the influence of many different genres during his musical development, he now eliminates boundaries in music and creates his own unique sound. Writing songs mostly with an indie pop vibe, he likes to give some songs a funky African touch and proves to strike a chord with the audience. 21 January: Timothy de Monk Young alternative pop singer-songwriter and guitarist, who hails from Cape Town, and is already taking over the airwaves. With a captivating stage presence, Timothy offers tailored performances, which include a stripped-down acoustic set, an upbeat set backed by tracks and his guitar, or the option of combining both.
