Angels View turns heavenly Graskop into a holiday destination in own right Posted by Jordyn Johnson on 6 December 2022 The launch of the new Angels View hotel in Graskop was cause for celebration, turning the “stopover” area into a destination in its own right. Built upon the values of family, each guest is welcomed in like a beloved friend. Most of the staff live in the town or neighbouring villages, and their love for the area is tangible. Picture: Supplied The grandeur of the design doesn’t overwhelm the feeling of comfort. Every chair you sit in makes you want to put your feet up and sip on a hot cup of tea. The lounge area opens up onto a rooftop pool (necessary for those Lowveld summers), and cosy fireplaces for cooler nights. You have a choice of earthy ‘Grotto’ rooms, Superior rooms, Deluxe rooms, or a private cottage. The rooms all boast smart TVs, aircons, freestanding bathtubs, and beds to sink into. The style of the rooms is modern with neutral tones, and comfort is forefront. Meals served in the dining room are a grand affair and you will want to devour every last morsel on your plate. The dishes aren’t just delicious, they are presented like art pieces. The knowledgeable waitrons will happily pair your meal with the perfect wine choice. In my opinion (and those of many others, hence the hotel’s name), the best part of Angels View is in fact the view. Panoramic views of Mpumalanga’s valleys, mountains, and forests take your breath away from most of the rooms in the hotel. If you feel like getting out to explore, The Graskop Gorge lift is a must. The famous Harry’s Pancakes is also on offer, as well as viewpoints along the Panorama Route. Kruger National Park is less than an hour away, as is the beautiful town of Sabie.
