Abu Dhabi lifts COVID-19 restrictions for travellers

The Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), has announced relief in COVID-19 measures.

Visitors will no longer be required to register their vaccination status with the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) before arrival, and a Green Pass status on the Al Hosn app will no longer be a prerequisite to enter Abu Dhabi’s tourist attractions in the form of malls, hotels, restaurants and theme parks.

Furthermore, mask-wearing will also be optional for guests as the country progressed in lifting COVID-19 restrictions. Also, apart from visitors, residents are now no longer required to do a monthly PCR test to maintain the green colour on the Al Hosn app. This is an update which will surely be met with great appreciation from the 50 000 South African residents currently living and working in the Arab Emirates.

The development is in sync with the latest campaign Experience Abu Dhabi which was launched by Abu Dhabi. Find Your Pace, is another new campaign that highlights various activities that implore people to inspire, excite and restore, while bringing them to come to discover the Emirates in their own way, and at their own pace.

However, safety will remain a top priority, and anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 will be required to isolate themself for a period of five days.
