The Galileo is back for stellar outdoor movie nights in Cape Town Posted by Anita Froneman on 14 November 2022 Nothing signals the arrival of summer in Cape Town quite like The Galileo Open Air Cinema. The recipe is beautifully simple; great movies, a festive atmosphere and a food market of local gourmet goodness served ‘al fresco’ under a canopy of stars. The Galileo’s eleventh season of outdoor movie magic will run until 29 of April 2023 and will feature rom-coms, cult classics, family favourites and ‘Golden Oldies’ – ensuring all tastes are catered to. This season, Galileo guests will be thrilled to hear that weekly shows will be screened at the beloved ‘Kirstenbosch Garden’, select Fridays hosted at Century City’s ‘Central Park’ and a brand new venue, the iconic ‘Six Gun Grill Newlands Cricket Stadium’ for selected Sundays. Perfectly primed for weekend Winelands adventures, the rotating wine estate venues remain firmly in place for Saturday screenings, showcasing the beautiful backdrops of Stellenbosch, Somerset West, Paarl and Franschhoek. Did you know? You can get a FREE ticket during your birthday week (excluding special shows). Couples seeking something extra special can look out for the newly-launched VVIP ticket that ensures the best seats in the house, luxurious décor, a bespoke picnic platter for two, a snack combo and a bottle of wine. SPECIAL SHOWS Christmas Eve: Home Alone, Stellenbosch Vineyards Christmas Day: Arthur Christmas, Kirstenbosch Garden Valentine’s Day: Marry Me, Nooitgedacht Wine Estate Easter Sunday: The Rise Of The Guardians, Six Gun Grill Newlands Cricket Stadium Tickets start from R129pp, doors open at 6pm on weekdays, 5pm on Saturdays, and the movie starts after sunset.
