Dullstroom is often viewed as a pitstop between Gauteng and Kruger but as we’ve said before, Dullstroom is more than an overnight destination. This quaint town is located in South Africa’s Mpumalanga province and is known for its fly-fishing and beautiful scenery. Clay pigeon shooting Picture: Field and Stream Dullstroom is the place for those old-time country pursuits and at Field and Stream farm you can visit their Clay Pigeon Shooting Range. It’s open on most Saturdays where you can experience the thrill of the hunt by shooting at clay disks with a shotgun. 2. Go Flyfishing at Trout Valley Picture: Getaway Gallery One of the best fly fishing spots in all of South Africa is known to be in Dullstroom. Trout Valley is a well-known fishing destination that draws anglers from across the nation with its numerous fully stocked dams and lakes that are perfect for both experts and beginners. There are plenty of things to do in Dullstroom all year round, whether you’re an expert fisherman looking to test your prowess against these elusive fish or a newcomer looking to learn more about this popular sport. Make sure to schedule your trip between July and September when conditions are ideal for fishing. 3. Sample cool bevs at the Anvil Ale Brewery Picture: @anvilale Anvil Ale Brewery produces all of their beers on-site using water from the Steenkampsberge springs, which might be their secret ingredient given that they have repeatedly been named Africa’s Brewer of the Year. Animals such as the oribi, steenbok, brown hyena, caracal, serval cat, jackal, otters, and zebras can also be found in Verloren Vallei. 9.
