Thailand grants South African visitors a visa extension from October Posted by David Henning on 31 August 2022 South Africans thinking of a trip to Thailand might want to consider extending their stay, with the country allowing South Africans entitled to extend their stay from 30 to 45 days as part of a new rule for countries that don’t require an entry visa. From 1 October 2022, The Thailand Tourism Authority has proposed an extension for the country’s upcoming high tourism season, which normally runs from October to March. This visa extension is only available until 31 March. Travellers to Thailand must present proof of vaccination – print or digital – to be granted entry. Unvaccinated travellers must present a negative PCR test not older than 72 hours since departure.
