Airbnb looking for six travellers to embark on 19-day train journey Posted by Taylah Strauss on 12 July 2022 Airbnb has partnered up with Interrail Pass and is looking for six people to join the hospitality platform’s new travel by train package that visits five European countries over 19 days. Dubbed the Airbnb Heritage Tour, the slow travel journey will celebrate the comeback of train travel in Europe, as well as Airbnb’s 50th anniversary. ‘We are excited to be offering this epic adventure which celebrates the golden age of 19th century travel, when there was more time to appreciate adventures with friends and family for longer. By combining the very best of train travel with the best of heritage in Europe, we hope travellers will reconnect with history and culture and enjoy travel as it once was,’ said Airbnb Regional Director, Emmanuel Marill. Have a look at the itinerary below: 31 August – 3 September Destination: Bath, United Kingdom The adventure starts in London at Paddington Station. The lucky six will travel to Bath where they will be met with Sophie, the host, who will welcome them to her baronial-style 19th century mansion, surrounded by sprawling lawns. 3 September – 6 September Destination: Saint-Georges-sur-Cher, France The journey will then continue via the Channel Tunnel to France. Travellers will pass through towns and cities prior to meeting retired naval officer Pierre in Chissay-en-Touraine, who will welcome them to his wife’s château. 6 September – 10 September Destination: Sant Pere de Ribes, Spain The train ride to Spain will travel through the south of France, where travellers will stop in Montpellier for the ultimate wine-and-dine experience. After this, the journey will travel to a Catalan manor outside Barcelona, hosted by Aleksandra. 10 September – 14 September Destination: Lucca, Italy After three nights at the Catalan manor, travellers will pass the Côte d’Azur on the way to the city of Lucca in Tuscany, where they will be met by David, the host of a 400-year-old villa. David will allow guests to experience the best kept secret of the villa: a garden behind the house with a fabulous swimming pool and fountain. 14 September – 18 September Destination: Behren-Lübchin, Germany The last stop on the journey will take travellers through the Italian Alps, with a one night stopover in Munich, before arriving at the Baltic coast where hotelier Kevin will welcome guests to his 19th century castle.
