Wine Town Stellenbosch set to shine Posted by Ilhaam Hoosain on 17 June 2022 The Wine Town Stellenbosch will take place from 4 – 9 August 2022. This family-friendly event offers a variety of experiences to keep everyone entertained. The event will host concerts, walks on the farm and food preparations paired with the perfect wine, for any occasion. Wine lovers will get a chance to experience a deep-rooted heritage of award-winning wines. Local wines would like to showcase to visitors their cultivar excellence or their vineyard’s age. You can expect to see the Pinotage and Chenin Blanc Associations in the mix. The Stellenbosch Cabernet walk-around tasting at Ernie Els Wines will also be joining the festival again. Stellenbosch Wine Festival This festival will be held in the Stellenbosch Town Hall. Local wines will be on display for two days. Food will be prepared by popular chef Bertus Basson. More than 200 wines will be displayed from stalls for visitors to enjoy. Tastings will take place from: Friday, 5 August – 16:00 to 20:00 Saturday, 6 August – 14:00 to 18:00 New wine route members will be participating these include the Weltevreden Estate / Bertha Wines and Compagniesdrift. Special walk-around tasting The Simon Wine Emporium on the 9 August will have a walk-around tasting. This event showcases women winemakers of Stellenbosch and their wines. The wine emporium is in association with Stellenbosch Wine Routes. Many restaurants and hotels will be offering special deals.
