Entries open for two-day mountain bike race at De Hoop in May Posted by David Henning on 19 April 2022 De Hoop Collection will be hosting a two-day mountain bike experience through pristine fynbos around the nature reserve from 20 to 22 May 2022. ‘This exciting and exhilarating mountain biking experience gives bikers, friends and their families the chance to explore the terrain, vast open spaces and wildlife of De Hoop Nature Reserve,’ said Willem Stephens, owner of the De Hoop Collection. ‘Truly, there’s no better place to enjoy a blend of pristine land, beach, teeming animal and birdlife than at De Hoop – and it’s one of the best land-based whale watching areas in the world.’ There’s the option of a 31km sunset ride on Friday afternoon for riders who want to stretch their legs and familiarise themselves with the trails. Saturday and Sunday is the main event, with Stage 1 on Saturday a 57km ride and Sunday’s Stage 2 a challenging 63km. For the competitive riders, prize money is up for grabs for winners of the Men, Women, and team entries respectively.
