12 fun activities to do in Joburg this Easter

Posted by Chloe Cowley on 7 April 2022

Easter is around the corner and there’s sure to be lots of egg hunts, chocolate and some serious sugar rushes.

What better way to burn off some energy and rediscover the city than by taking a long weekend to enjoy its best bits? Head to Sandton Central.

Homage to Mandela

At Sandton’s Nelson Mandela Square a towering statue of Madiba looks over the number of exclusive restaurants, shops and hotels found here.

April comes complete with two long weekends – the Easter Weekend from 15 to 18 April and the Worker’s Day weekend from 30 April to 2 May – and a mid-week Freedom Day public holiday on Wednesday, 27 April. So, there’s plenty of time for you to explore Sandton Central’s treasures.

Sandton Central is the heartbeat of Johannesburg where you’ll find hip coffee shops, inviting stores and top-notch restaurants on every corner.

Even if you feel you know Sandton Central’s walkable streets already, there’s always a new opening, unique experience, special stay or live performance to delight in. We’ve put together some highlights for you.
