Mauritius drops PCR test requirement for vaccinated travellers Posted by Anita Froneman on 12 March 2022 Mauritius has dropped the requirement for all incoming visitors to present a negative PCR test upon arrival as of 12 March. Previously, a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours before departure was required for all passengers. ‘As it stands, 90% of Mauritius’ adult population is fully vaccinated,’ reported Mauritius Now. ‘Demand from tourists and business travellers has soared following the reopening of its borders to international travel since last October, which coincided with the loosening of travel restrictions in many of Mauritius’ key markets,’ the country’s tourism website stated. The island nation lifted its ban against South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia on 7 January 2022.
