Local airline FlySafair has announced it will launch flights from OR Tambo to Mauritius on 8 March 2022. Flights will be scheduled on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The island nation lifted its ban against South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia on 7 January 2022.

Here’s what you need to know about entering the country as shared by Mauritius Now.

Did you know? Mauritius, situated in the Indian Ocean east of Madagascar, spans 2,040 square kilometres and has an ‘exclusive economic zone’ covering 2.3 million square kilometres. This zone, as determined by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, is an area of the sea to which a country holds the rights to the exploration and use of marine resources.

Flight tickets start from R9,900 return. You can learn more here.
