Famous Tankwa Padstal to add giant spider to their sculpture collection Posted by Taylah Strauss on 24 November 2021 The popular Tankwa Padstal, located on the R355 between Ceres and the Tankwa Karoo National Park, will add another spectacular artwork to their collection. The farm stall is famous for its ‘UFO’ that ‘crashed’ into the landscape, and other quirky sculptures. The ‘spaceship’ that crashlanded in the desert. Inside the padstal, various sweets and other miscellaneous items are for sale. Picture: Getaway Gallery The new sculpture, a giant spider made primarily of used bicycle frames and rims, started in October 2021 and is set for completion around mid-2022. To assist in this project, the owners of the Tankwa Padstal encourage everyone to donate old bicycle frames and rims and to share the cause on social media. It seems things keep diving head-first into the earth around here.
