New e-visa system in South Africa to launch in March 2022 Posted on 16 November 2021 Minister of Finance, Enoch Godongwana has announced that South Africa will be introducing the new e-visa system in March 2022. This highly-anticipated e-visa system is meant to simplify the visa application process and ultimately increase tourism. Godongwana presented his Medium Term Budget Policy Statement (MTBPS) earlier this month, which stated that the e-visa system was finally completed and would be rolled out to fifteen countries next year. Tourists will no longer be subjected to time-consuming administrative tasks and complex requirements to obtain visas. Tourists will be able to complete the visa application process online, and need certain required documents and information to complete the process. According to IOL, President Cyril Ramaphosa commented in 2019 that ‘we must reduce the onerous and often unnecessary bureaucratic red tape that tourists who want to visit our countries face. This requires us to streamline our tourist visa regimes.’ Picture: Getaway Gallery ALSO READ India reopens borders to tourists after nearly two years Related Posts Cape Town’s sustainability: Leading the way in environmental initiatives 1 June 2023 As National Environmental Month commences in South Africa, Cape Town stands proudly at the forefront... read more Kapama to host Safari Guide of the Year Awards 2023 1 June 2023 Kapama Private Game Reserve near Hoedspruit will host this year’s Safari Guide of the Year... read more Blood Lions relaunches for public viewing on YouTube 1 June 2023 Award-winning documentary feature film Blood Lions has been relaunched on YouTube for public viewing, creating... read more PREV ARTICLE NEXT ARTICLE
