Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company hosts Take A Hike Day Posted by Taylah Strauss on 11 November 2021 Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company (TMACC) will host Take a Hike Day for the second year in a row, on 17 November 2021. Take a Hike Day was created to remind everyone of the beauty of nature, which involves clearing rubbish along the trails, as well as encouraging us to take accountability in caring for our national heritage. Starting at Platteklip Gorge at 7 am, hikers will receive a bag so that they can pick up any trash along the trail. Once hikers reach Table Mountain summit, they are to empty the trash bags in specifically allocated bins. TMACC encourages hikers who partake in Take a Hike Day to chronicle their trip on social media, and encourage others to join the hike. All hikers will get a free cable car ride down upon presentation of a full trash bag. The event is scheduled to end by 3 pm. In addition, the first 300 hikers will receive a snack pack, which includes a 10% discount voucher from Cape Union Mart, and a R10 coffee voucher from Vida e Caffe at the Cableway.
