Airlink to resume its Polokwane schedule

Posted by David Henning on 7 October 2021

Airlink has announced that it will be able to resume its scheduled Polokwane service from October 18, after Polokwane airport upgraded its emergency services.

Polokwane’s airport was closed in April after The South African Civil Aviation Authority downgraded it from grade 7 to 2, which saw the airport closed indefinitely.

It will then come as a relief to the Limpopo province, with its transport department commenting that they lost R17 million since the downgrade of the airport.

‘The Johannesburg-Polokwane route is important for business travellers and plays a crucial role in supporting Limpopo’s economy. We are looking forward to resuming our regular flights, which we will serve up to three times a day,’ said Airlink CEO and MD, Rodger Foster.

The flights are timed to provide travellers with convenient connections with the airlines domestic and regional flights through OR Tambo in Johannesburg.
