Netherlands opens its borders to vaccinated South Africans Posted by David Henning on 29 September 2021 The Netherlands have updated their travel restrictions, with South Africans and those from non-EU states allowed to enter, as long as they are fully vaccinated. Travellers entering the Netherlands must present a certificate of full vaccination with an approved vaccine to enter the country and will be exempted from the quarantine requirement. The final dose of the vaccine must be administrated at least 14 days before departure, or 28 days of vaccinated with the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. All vaccines approved by the World Health Organisation are accepted. Unvaccinated EU citizens or those travelling for ‘essential reasons’ may still enter the country. The list of exemptions can be found here. Unvaccinated travellers will be required to self-quarantine for 10 days on arrival and a quarantine declaration must be completed before departure. All travellers, including vaccinated ones, will have to complete a quarantine declaration before departure as well as a negative Covid test not older than 48 hours before departure Travellers must also present a ‘traveller public health declaration’ that must be completed before departure. The declaration states whether you have any symptoms of coronavirus infection (COVID-19). You must complete the declaration before your flight. If you have no symptoms you may board the aircraft.
