Over 18s in SA can get vaccinated soon – what this means for travel Posted by David Henning on 19 August 2021 Cabinet made the recent announcement on Thursday 19 August, that coronavirus vaccines will be made available to all those aged 18 and over in South Africa from Friday 20 August. South Africa is the most affected African country to be hit by the pandemic and vaccinations will come as a relief for many travellers, with many countries only allowing entry for vaccinated visitors. Read: Austria opens borders to vaccinated South Africans All those aged 18 years and older are invited to visit their nearest site with identification to be vaccinated, no pre-registration is required. With only 10% of the country vaccinated at the end of last week, the Department of Health will have to vaccinate a further 29 million people will to reach its target of a 70% inoculation amongst the adult population. Cabinet has further approved keeping the country on adjusted level 3 lockdown.
