Two arrested for possession of 19 rhino horns Posted by Anita Froneman on 22 July 2021 Two men have been arrested for being in possession of 19 rhino horns on Wednesday, 21 July. One is a ‘well-known businessman’ in Mbombela and the other a Limpopo game farmer, reported The Lowvelder. The arrests were made by the Hawks and the suspects will be detained until their court appearance. The Hawks is expected to release more details soon. Earlier this month, the Da Nang Customs Department in Vietnam said it had seized a container holding more than 138 kg of rhino horn and more than 3.1 tons of animal bones on the banned list from South Africa. The contraband was declared as wood.
