Brookdale Manor House launched in Paarl Winelands Posted by Anita Froneman on 15 June 2021 The opening of the Manor House at Brookdale Estate in 2021 has brought an elegant, new accommodation experience to the historic Paarl Winelands. Recently launched, Brookdale Manor House is positioned as a world-class, winelands retreat to accommodate families, small groups of friends or individual travellers. The Manor House can accommodate 12 adults (and two children under the age of 12 sharing with parents), catered for in five en-suite bedrooms in the main house, and a sixth en-suite bedroom in the building adjacent. Built in a modern Cape Dutch style, Brookdale Manor House is elegantly furnished, featuring ample living spaces that include a lavish living room, library and entertainment room, dining room, a sunny breakfast room and a kitchen, in addition to a private study. Outside, multiple terraces showcase panoramic views of the dramatic mountains and wine valley. The gardens, pool house and terrace, set around a magnificent swimming pool, create beautiful spaces for guests to enjoy the sunshine with a glass of wine from the Brookdale and Mason Road ranges. A true Cinderella story, Brookdale Estate was once overgrown and underused. The Rudd family, originally from the United Kingdom, recognised the potential of the property and acquired the 67-hectare estate in 2015. In line with their vision to create a world-class country estate, today Brookdale offers exceptional hospitality and produces fine wines under the stewardship of talented young winemaker, Kiara Scott. Brookdale Manor House is managed by seasoned hoteliers Yvonne Coetzee (General Manager), and Gary Coetzee (Executive Chef) who come with extensive hospitality experience gained over nearly ten years in management positions at Singita in the Sabi Sand, followed by a decade overseeing the Kerzner family estate Leeukoppie, in Hout Bay. Paying homage to its ethos ‘Stay Curious’, Brookdale Estate is as unexpected as she is enchanting. Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Klein Drakenstein mountains and hugged by a tranquil valley abundant with vineyards and fynbos, Brookdale Manor House is surrounded by natural beauty and deeply-rooted history. Each season of the vines brings new experiences. Guests are invited to relax in privacy, soak up the tranquil atmosphere and explore the natural beauty of the estate and surrounds. Celebrate and connect as a family, or group of friends, and find a sense of freedom and well-being in the Paarl Winelands – home to some of the country’s most awarded wines, cuisine and wellness experiences. The area also provides access to some of the Western Cape’s best nature trails, exceptional golfing, and interesting cultural and historical monuments. Brookdale Estate is ideally located within easy reach of Cape Town International Airport, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. Currently under construction elsewhere on the estate is a 80-seater Restaurant, Cellar and Wine Tasting Experience due to open in 2022/3.
